On the hunt for a new men's grooming essential2020欧洲杯体育足彩外围app?  Every fortnight, our grooming expert, Lee Kynaston, will be rounding up the best grooming products that have earned his seal of approval.

From all-time favourites to the best anti-shine products, these are the 8 products to invest in now.

And the winners are…

2020欧洲杯体育足彩外围appHaving written about male grooming for 20 years, I’ve road-tested thousands of products in my time. And although asking me to choose just one  is like asking a dad of five to pick his favourite child, there are some I’d recommend without reservation.

Dermalogica’s Skin Smoothing Cream is my all-time favourite moisturiser (a recent reformulation has only made it better); Nivea Men’s cheap-as-chips Black & White roll-on antiperspirant never lets me down and hasn’t stained a single shirt yet; while Philips’ game-changing OneBlade is my go-to grooming tool, being perfect for both shaving and trimming stubble.

As for fragrance, I have scores of personal favourites, but if ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ received is a benchmark for recommendation – and it’s as good as any – then I’ll plump for Creed’s versatile and sexy Original Vetiver. Just remember to mention who put you on to it when the compliments start coming.

My fab four

Skin Smoothing  Cream, £37, Dermalogica

Black & White Original Antiperspirant Roll-on, £1.50, Nivea Men

 OneBlade, £30, Philips

Original Vetiver, £165 for 50ml edp, Creed

Keep unwanted shine at bay

There are many things that look better with a bit of shine (patent leather, your dog’s coat and chocolate ganache for starters), but a man’s face definitely isn’t one of them. Sadly, with our skin producing up to twice as much sebum as women’s, unwanted shine is something most of us will encounter at some point.

2020欧洲杯体育足彩外围appLuckily, tackling oil-slick skin is simpler than you think. The bedrock of your routine should be an oil-controlling face wash –  No 7’s also exfoliates to prevent blocked pores. A mattifying moisturiser is essential for keeping skin hydrated – oil and water are different things, remember, so greasy skin can still be dehydrated.

2020欧洲杯体育足彩外围appFor emergency de-greasing, use Givenchy’s handy Mattifying Stick (it’s saved me from a shiny schnoz on countless occasions) or for an on-the-go remedy, use blotting papers. A suit-pocket essential, they’re perfect for mopping up excess oil, ensuring it’s your personality that shines, not your skin.
